Dr David Niyukuri

I am an applied mathematician and epidemiologist whose research lies at the intersection of mathematical modelling, computational mathematics, optimization, Scientific AI, and public health. My work focuses on developing rigorous mathematical and computational frameworks for learning, predicting, and controlling complex dynamical systems by integrating optimization, Bayesian inference, stochastic processes, scientific machine learning, and uncertainty quantification. My research is inherently interdisciplinary, bringing together mathematics, computational science, artificial intelligence, and the health sciences to address complex real- world challenges. Over the past five years, I have built and led multidisciplinary research teams, established strategic collaborations across Africa, Europe, North America, and Asia, and developed sustainable research capacity in mathematical modelling and computational epidemiology.
